2010 – June 2016, EY, Jacksonville, FL

Manager – Technical Architects, EY, 2014 – June 2016

  • Created and manage a team of up to 12 technical architects in providing over a dozen regional and municipal utility clients across the U.S. with a wide range of consulting services, serving as primary liaison between EY’s advanced technical teams, internal business teams, and client executive and technical resources
  • Unified a variety of individual contributors into a single cohesive team with standardized processes and increased knowledge sharing, allowing for development of best practices across clients and ensuring technical coverage across all engagements
  • Standardized documents used in work proposals and presentations, reducing response time for technical support materials by 50% while providing more consistent and accurate content
  • Manage all technical aspects of several multimillion-dollar proposals for work per year, including systems sizing, layout and design, needs assessment, and architecture diagrams for a successful $1MM bid with a Southeastern water and power utility in 2015

IT Operations Manager, Five Point, 2010 – 2014

  • Directed a diverse set of teams (operating systems, application administration, database administration, storage) as part of Five Point Partners, a boutique utility-focused managed services and implementation firm, with responsibility for managing projects with enterprise-level impact for a single 500,000-meter gas and power utility client
  • Managed the client’s entire customer information, billing, storage, and asset management systems, as well as more than 150 Oracle databases, and negotiated statements of work and SLA’s up to several million dollars
  • Reduced after-hours service calls by more than 90% by resolving complex technical issues, standardizing processes across teams, guiding diverse teams in working toward common goals, identifying common issues and solutions, and providing the client with improved education and training
  • Led a technical troubleshooting team in resolving critical issues after a major systems upgrade of the client’s Oracle information and billing system, reducing basic account access times from 45 seconds to under two seconds, and cutting billing from a 24-hour to a four-hour process

2006 – 2009, Silverpop, Atlanta, GA

Engineering Services Manager / Release Manager

  • Managed up to 15 technical resources across three teams (engineering support, project management/PMO, database services) for an emerging SaaS company specializing in targeted email marketing for clients of all sizes and industries
  • Positioned each team as a support unit that allowed the company’s development, system operations, and customer support teams to thrive and focus on core operations
  • Led the engineering support team in developing and implementing processes to address mid-tier customer service issues, allowing developers to focus on improving the software by removing 90% of support requests they were previously tasked with handling
  • Created a new project management team during a period of intense company growth, blending traditional software project management and Agile/Scrum methodologies to handle major IT-related projects, including a large-scale datacenter move that was previously being handled by a Vice President of Engineering

  • Led teams of up to 20 in software development, implementation, and maintenance for a system supporting retail power sales in the Texas market for an Atlanta-based energy generation and marketing firm
  • Managed a variety of projects, as well as the development and support of market bidding systems in six regional energy markets across the U.S.
  • Implemented clear project management processes for the first time for a different internal division of the company, completing a project that had been struggling for years within one-year of taking over
  • Implemented a wide range of changes that took bidding and logistics systems from a “material weakness” to a “passing” audit status in less than two months
  • Served in a process definition and business analysis role during the company’s initial implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley
